Detroit Steel Group, Inc can provide flat rolled steel in Cold Rolled, Hot Rolled, Galvanized, Galvannealed, Electrogalvanized, and Aluminized. We can slit to your width requirement in coil form or cut to your length needs. We can supply blanks and trapezoids per your specifications.

Detroit Steel Group can process flat rolled steel to:

  • Coils slit to your desired width
  • Sheets
  • Production Blanks
  • Narrow Coils
  • Plate or Hot Rolled Steel Burnouts
  • Trapezoid or other unusual shapes

We will package and ship per each individual order, as per our customers specifications. Our steel is offered in a variety of thicknesses, in coated and uncoated products.

Hot Rolled

Hot Rolled steel is most basic of the flat rolled steel products. Hot Rolled steel is used when surface finish is not critical.

Hot Rolled Pickled and Oiled

Hot Rolled steel that goes through an acid pickling process. This type of steel goes through the process of removing hot rolled mill scale by using sulphuric or hydrochloric acid. Once the scale is removed the coil is oiled to prevent corrosion.

Cold Rolled

Cold Rolled product is a flat rolled product for which the approximate required thickness had been obtained by rolling without heating at room temperature. This product is processed to meet requirements for controlled surface texture, flatness limitations, and temper requirement which will produce a smoother surface and tighter gauge tolerance.

Hot-Dip Galvanized

Hot Rolled or Cold Rolled steel that goes through a Galvanization process. This is the process of coating steel with a thin zinc layer, by passing the metal through a molten bath of zinc.. The zinc coating creates a barrier that helps prevent the formation of rust.

Electro Galvanized

Electro Galvanized goes through a zinc coating process using electroplating. The process in which zinc bonds to the base metal due to an electric charge. This gives a free standing thin layer of zinc coating on top of the base metal.

Galvanneal

Galvanneal is the result from the combined process of Hot-Dip Galvanizing along with annealing. This procedure produces a bond in which the iron from the base metal inter mixes with the zinc coating. That is why Galvanneal is often referred to as Zinc-Iron Alloy. The very fine matte finish acts like a primer, allowing paint to adhere easily, and is very rust proof. Galvanneal steel offers good paintability, weldability, corrosion resistance, and formability.

Aluminized

Aluminized steel is steel that has been Hot-Dip coated with Aluminum-Silicon alloy. This process assures a tight metallurgical bond between the steel sheet and its aluminum coating, producing a material with a unique combination of properties possessed neither by steel nor by aluminum alone.
